Once upon a time... HUMANS and MONSTERS lived on the SURFACE in peace. But as time passed, the MONSTERS got greedy. They wanted more power then the HUMANS. In their search, they discovered that HUMAN souls would persist after death. The MONSTERS absorbed them but it messed with their minds and transformed them into hideous beasts.
