It was fall, and it was clear in its skies and its sunsets. In the leaves. In the ever-so subtle blowing of the wind. We’d say it was wind as to avoid saying it was something else. We’d say, at school, that the cold breeze that wrapped itself around us was something different. Something unsuspected, like a kiss. A kiss with a taste of death.
