In early 20th century Ireland, Ciara is struggling to live up to her fathers expectations after the death of her best friend. Desperately trying to get back what she has lost, yet not knowing what exactly it is she's missing, she endures hurt and abuse by those around her in order to have a chance of finding it. Ciara, barely keeping up with society's standards, is clinging onto the ghost of what used to be.
