Amber, a librarian in the quiet town of Springey, discovers a hidden gateway to another realm beneath the library and becomes its chosen Guardian. As dark forces led by Malric rise to break through, she joins Van, Claire, and Kyle to restore ancient wards that protect the town. Along the way, friendships deepen and rivalries form as both Van and Kyle develop feelings for her. In a final battle, they defeat Malric and save Springey.
