Being on the verge of first-time fatherhood would be nerve wracking enough on its own for anyone. Luckily (?), Sam is used to living with a constant sense of anxiety, and between supportive coworkers and an ever-patient wife, he’s got his nerves mostly under control. That control is tested, however, when Sam receives a surprise phone call from his parents—parents he hasn’t heard from in years, who are suddenly interested in meeting their new grandbaby. (Short story—Completed!)
