Coddled and pitied by her family and peers, Helba, the blind daughter of a highly-ranked Greek official, longs to live a life of her own. Meanwhile, the community is unnerved by rising reports of missing soldiers from missions to hunt down a mysterious creature. Word says that it has an ungodly ability to turn any fearless soul that dares to come after its head into stone. One stormy night, Helba wiggles out of her chains of constant supervision and stumbles into the lair of that very beast.
