A silver lining is a sign of hope or a positive aspect in an otherwise negative situation. This phrase is used in, “Every cloud has a silver lining”. It shows that there’s always hope to be found, even in the darkest of places. Leah's life is just a boatload of hardships, but maybe with her best friend Bolin, she can start to hope for something better out of life, even if it's not with him in the end.
