The story is set into the distant future, where human life has changed, become more sparse, and now isolated in little villages with only a few cities. Tara, our main character, has just turned 20 and is embarking on her first coming-of-age ceremony. She has to test her skills in several bouts against John, a young master who just passed her own combat ceremony 3 years prior.
