Hinami Akari, a wandering Seraph in the city of Rize, is attacked by a Yokai, a supernatural spirit that comes from the dimension Dunkel. She is saved by Minoru Kurai, a fallen seraph with a distorted halo. They begin traveling together soon after, along the way she learns Minoru's story as he is now completing a list of tasks to redeem himself from his past, meanwhile, in the shadows, a coup is being planned by the planet's royal guard, a plot that can end all life in the universe.
