In the aftermath of the “Crimson Plague,” humans are nearly extinct. Vampires, desperate to preserve their food source, attempted to stop the zombie outbreak—but many were infected in the process. The result: The Howlers—vampire-zombie hybrids who scream at frequencies that shatter minds and rip flesh. Rai is different. He doesn’t screech… yet.
