After a nuclear explosion destroys the city, the rich flee to a raised island shielded from radiation, creating a futuristic society. The poor are abandoned among ruins, disease and crime, surviving on the island’s waste. Two children are rescued and adopted by a young man. The girl dreams of becoming an inventor, while the boy becomes a detective searching for his parents. Years later, a girl from the island asks for help investigating disappearances, leading to a powerful noble w a secret lab.
