In the land of Venturia, where its inhabitants cannot die nor cease to exist; those who die in spite of the curse lost their ability to think nor remember. In the end, kingdoms fell to ruin, and all was due to the traitorous noble who stole the title of a 'king'. To lift this curse, the red maiden 'Rosenrot' went on a journey to Venturia, and then to the throne of Simon; and with the help of her faithful companion, a former warden Hound.
