After shapeshifters are flushed out of their country and forced to live in an ordinary world, their transformations are rare as they live in fear of being hunted. Follow along with Phoenix, a young boy entering adult-hood who strives to protect his younger brother from the enemy, or family. After their father dies, their mother remarries, and the brothers are pressured into ways not of their own.
