Fun fact: devil's snare, is also known as thorn apple (Datura stramonium). In European witchcraft, D. stramonium was also a common ingredient used for making witches' flying ointment along with other poisonous plants of the nightshade family. Across the Americas, indigenous peoples used this plant or other Datura species in sacred ceremonies for its hallucinogenic properties.
