When Skye bombs his midterms due to a depressive episode, his med school dreams suddenly seem impossible. Lamenting his failure, he is approached by a magical being who offers him the chance of a lifetime: to become a magical fighter and protect the world from demons preying upon the weak and mentally ill. There's just one problem: the being is the spitting image Skye's childhood friend, who died ten years ago.
