Tracy Chan and her mom, Lauren, have just moved to a new city after a difficult divorce between Tracy's parents. Lauren has to go away for the weekend for business. Not wanting to leave Tracy alone, Lauren asks Gale, her dear friend since high school who knows this town like the back of his hand, to watch Tracy. Tracy has her guard up and does not trust Gale after how her father hurt their family. However, Gale will soon show Tracy what a father should be and slowly earn her trust and respect.
