The Chinese military still uses Hojo Undo. It is a culturally and historically sensitive subject so if it was to be addressed it had to be explained, in this case it is explained by an indoctrinated and zealous Prussian officer; it gives us some insight into their perspective, reminds us they had a different culture from ordinary German civilians.
