In the galaxy of LK-777, the planet Olba, akin to Earth, is threatened by the "great filtering process," meant to prevent contact among sentient beings and lead to its destruction. Gurren, initially seeking the celestial council's mercy, decides to save Olba himself. He explores the planet's distinct features and begins a mission to thwart its impending eradication, defying the council's unyielding resolve.
