NENB: Zero follows the events of Ian Jayster's last 3 years at school, as he tries to sort out his feelings and figure out how he can do better. He is unaware that his frustrations' Focus is trying to adhere to pedagogical ethics, eventually starting to feel affection for him. The 2nd part of the story, set 5 years after Ian graduates, sees him become a German language teacher, where he crosses paths with his former teacher, Veronica Eisher, and this encounter will have serious consequences.
