This year, it snowed just like it did when I lived in Toronto. Back then, I didn't understand what was happening - I wanted to assume the best of you. You were my mom, but also my best friend. I don't think you knew how to adjust to me becoming my own person. I'm sorry that was so painful. But by trying so desperately to hold on, you created a rift that you've been unable to cross ever since.
