James and Joanne, a young couple living in rural West Virginia, are in the process of establishing a deeper connection with their community. However, due to the Vietnam war and ongoing anti-communism ideologies facing the nation, the two have to battle with internal fighting among their friends and relationship. All while battling a strange (and suspicious) addiction behind the scenes.
