Many years ago, a young boy named Bort was taken away and turned into an Imp because of his reckless behaviour. He spent what felt like years mindlessly wandering the land of Reflektor, trying to control his Imp-like nature, until one day he breaks into the "Lair" of a powerful entity. As punishment, he is given a special hat which lets him communicate with the dead and he is tasked with maintaining the ghost realm, tending to each ghost's requests.
