An eight-year-old Linne Altist is forced to leave her hometown of Bakersfield and move to Emchester, a small, remote town secluded inside a heavily forested mountain valley. And with her family close to financial ruin, she must take up a part-time job at a bar called The MIdnight Lotus. It's there as a janitor she experiences and is dragged into odd jobs involving the strange customers of Emchester with her boss Ray Vazquez.
