The story of Masked Descent follows the Fenix, a hero from a lineage of vigilantes, as he faces threats both criminal and supernatural in his southern metropolis, River City. His struggle is compounded as he tries to live up to the work of his forefathers and weather a terminal illness that makes the fact the he lost his heir even bleaker. A vicious killer arrives in the city slaying cops and elites with his sights set on the Fenix, aiming to expose the vigilante's bloody legacy and lies.
