Vail is aware that his death is an inevitable consequence of doing magic. Despite this, he still does his best to research the origin of magic and the dangerous monsters known as "Nidhoggs". To make sure he meets his end when his time comes, a daughter of nobility, Katelyn, joins him on this quest. Will they find the truth before Vail's time is up?
