In Arc One, Haiden was grieving her brother and was furious at the monarch for what he did to her family, but I didn't want that to be her entire persona. After a few rewrites, I think I found a nice balance between her angst and her caring big-sister nature. She protects Rea, but will also call Rea out when the latter is being reckless or obsessing too much over the jewels.
