Max has always been protected from the cruel reality of the library, a place that sends out children orphaned by incidents involving dangerous artifacts to find these very artifacts. Protected from these missions by Lydia, Max has never known how dangerous the place truly is until the day Lydia returns with an artifact that will change their lives forever.
