In a post-collapse world where apparitions roam freely but are feared and avoided, Yang Xiu Juan is found alone in front of Everfall Orphanage by Meng Yao. There is no trace of who left her there, the only clue is messy handwriting sewn onto the back of her clothes, listing her identity. As Juan grows up inside the orphanage, she and her friends slowly begin to uncover the truth behind their world and the memories everyone is trying to forget.
