The village's apothecary has died. Her apprentice, only 14, is ill-prepared to help them face the last of a long winter. Though their call for help is answered by a doctor from a neighbouring village, she cannot perform miracles. Will she and the troubled apprentice be able to get along, or will the mountains swallow them?
