Our protagonist Margaret was adopted as a baby by a wealthy old couple (Rose and Henry Beaumont) in a small town called "Paso del Norte" (Pass of the North). They take her to their country ,Victorian England. Where she will live a refined life, learning about cultural differences , friendship and love along her friends Andrew and Manfred.
