Amateur archaeologist David Carter unknowingly pulls a magical dagger from the wall of an ancient Egyptian site. As a result his body magically crumbles into sand, with the site crumbling along with him. He awakens to find himself in ancient Egypt and soon realizes that his body has changed and has now taken the appearance of the Egyptian god of death Anubis. And so he begins his new life. This is an action/adventure story that explores the ancient near east including ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia
