Kupfer's world is one of autumn colours and days spend in peaceful company. Until the usually short-lived summer tightens its grip on the woods. With the river threatening to dry up, Kupfer sets out to find the reason for the heat. Accompanied by an outcasted Sooty Owl and a wandering Pine Marten, Kupfer travels a world that is unknown to her - and a lot more dangerous than she thinks.
