Four kingdoms, 5 Gods, a deadly winter, and a very interesting game of Chess! Every year the four Kingdoms compete with each other in real life chess in order to get a special artifact made up of the Gods magic; or uncommonly, a new demigod. Each God rules over a single Kingdom and plays as the King of the board. However when the god of the strongest kingdom is found murdered, things take a bigger toll for the Avian boy, Reine, as he gets pushed into the world of checkered boards.
