This scene of Dean and Keiko fighting the enchanted fire, illustrated in the Insular style of 9th century Christian Scottish/Irish manuscripts, was inspired by the story of folk hero Fionn Mac Cumhail who defeated the fire goblin Áillen to stop him from his yearly Samhain ritual of lulling the residences of Tara to sleep with music before burning it to the ground.
