This is the story of Astrid, a girl who becomes a superhero simply because she acquires super powers. she doesn’t have a tragic backstory or a self-righteous code of honor. She works at a comic book store and sleeps on her brother’s sofa. And her alter-ego Sparkle has enough power to level a city block. Are a flashy costume and super powers all it really takes to become a superhero? And what is the cause of the mysterious event people are calling, the Ion Trigger?
