The planet of Kahua has an ecosystem full of lifeforms adapted to breathe certain toxic gases, which are produced as waste by the jungles therein. Millions of years of evolution have made them dependant on these gases to survive, and thus Kahuans are almost always seen in breath-suits when off-world. This has led to most other species mistaking the suits for their natural skin and flesh.
