Hupple comes from a quiet Rab village that survives by staying small, staying hidden, and avoiding outsiders. When he discovers a beautiful, impossible geometric light in the forest, it pierces his left eye and brands him as something new—a beacon he can’t turn off. As animals begin moving in strange unison and a whispering predator visits him in his dreams, Hupple rides for the human settlement, searching for answers while the thing that touched him keeps working.
