We say the energy from the big bang amounts to zero. But not because there weren't any but because the positive and negative were equal. Beings of divine power were born from it, maintaining a frail but perfect balance in light and darkness and all that implies. Events came to disturb that balance and the very essence of existence itself is threatened to collapse. Noone is spared, and the divinities themselves will need the help of every living throughout the universe to insure their survival.
