The God of Time, Horoberos, has punished a city for considering that sinner their "savior." Half the population has already fallen, while the other half is rapidly running out of time. Some waste it drowning their sorrows in alcohol, others praying to gods who never respond. Makena, a young woman determined to find a way to survive, accidentally stumbles upon what appears to be the final blessing granted to them to escape Horoberos' punishment.
