A young girl is fostered by a mysterious man named Herman. Despite their long time together, Herman refuses to open up, and the girl becomes curious about his true nature. The girl spies on Herman and learns a lot about him in the process. But the more she tries to understand Herman, the more Herman pushes back in the form of violence. Both characters slowly decay as they continue a relationship with no communication. Consequently, this experience continues to haunt the girl throughout her life.
