Hayden is found after a traumatic experience and is brought in by the mayor to take care of an elderly farmer, after her death, Hayden takes over the farm and becomes responsible for both daily tasks and monster slaying. However, he soon finds himself struggling with important responsibilities on the farm while trying to keep up with monster hunting. To help Hayden, the mayor assigns Varan, a 23-year-old runaway, to help Hayden keep the tasks at hand and provide the social support that he needs.
