Hamlet tells the story of Prince Hamlet, who seeks revenge after his father’s ghost reveals that Hamlet’s uncle, Claudius, murdered him to seize the throne and marry Hamlet’s mother, Gertrude. Hamlet’s indecision, philosophical reflections on life and death, and feigned madness lead to tragedy. He accidentally kills Polonius, leading to Ophelia’s madness and death. In a final duel, Hamlet, Gertrude, Claudius, and Laertes all die, leaving Prince Fortinbras to claim the throne.
