The year is 1974, and Kaori Matsuda has always wanted to box. One day, she seeks out Takashi Nakamura, a former boxing champ turned coach at a local boxing gym. Impressed by her abilities, Takashi agrees to train Kaori on a professional level, even if he loses the last of his reputation for training a girl in a time before it was taken seriously.
