The Gods were fascinated with mortals, engaging in deep politics and waging wars in the name of entertainment and renown. Since they could not exist on the physical plane, they inhabited mortal hosts, giving them uniquely powerful abilities and their symbol: a GodMark. Legends say mortals fought back, and found a way to seal all the Gods away within magical relics, hunting the GodMarked to extinction thousands of years ago. But the legends were wrong. The GodMarked have returned.
