Kimb Johansson and her family move to the secluded town of Laurel, Arkansas (made up) to be closer to her cousins, the Wards. When meeting Jamie Parker, the town's outcast, Dean Ward warns Kimb that she doesn't want to get mixed up with him. Jamie was once respected by everyone, until the day his father died. He blamed a monster that stayed in the woods where his father would "work." Some saw it as a strange coping mechanism, but most believe he's trying to cover up the fact that he did it.
