A young girl, beloved by her people, discovers her kind's mortal enemy in her attic. Keeping him a secret, the two grow close, realizing they had much more in common than what their elders had taught them. But when they are torn apart, both of them are willing to go through incredible feats to return to one another, including making deals with a murderous god.
