Many strange creatures hide in the murky waters of the dying ocean, and few know that better than Ladure farmer Spencer Longborough, who ventures onto the water every day for the delicious delicacies it hides. But when he fishes out an unexpectedly intelligent creature that speaks a strange language and is terrified of the water it emerged from, he finds himself with a mystery on his hands.
