Thunder strikes 2 elementary school kids, EJ and Tochi; however, they are saved by the orb that hid below them at that time. They have to eventually recruit 5 other kids, Josh, Drew, Terrell, Ethan, and Stella, to form the Red X Team (RXT) to fight evil, most prominently, Dr Braino, a mad scientist trying to control all of Matrix City with the help of his specialised brainbots and mutants. It's up to some average kids to stop a not-so-average threat.
