In the year 4050 aliens have taken over the world and have established their own form of government. Young Antonias Aaron and his small group of Christians are the last true humans. But when Antonias is told to see the last human temple before it's torn down he meets the vampirelike hybrid named Donovan Fritz. But Donovan is much more than meets the eye, and after swearing allegiance to Antonias they swear to end the world to take revenge on the demons that took it over.
