In the 22nd century, humans who manifest mysterious super abilities are classified as "mutants" and shunned from mainstream society. Area 521 is the only town in New York City with total freedom of ability expression, housing a population with potentially the highest concentration of mutants. As the mutant high schoolers go about their mundane lives in the town, a dark secret begins to unravel into a cycle of tragedy.
